Mavericks organize special celebration for legend Nowitzki

The Dallas Mavericks, the NBA rival, organized a special tribute to German star Dirk Nowitzki, while withholding his shirt.

After the Mavericks’ clash with the Golden State Warriors ended Wednesday night, Novitsky 41st shirt was lifted to the rafters at american airline center, a move similar to brad Davis’ 10th shirt, Ronaldo Blackman’s 22nd jersey and Derek Harper’s 12th jersey.

Several Mavericks players went to the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night wearing the 41st shirt in honor of Novitskiy.

The Mavericks announced that the 41st jersey would not be used again after the game against the Warriors.

Nowitzki, 43, has played for the Mavericks throughout his 21-year NBA career.
