A jewelry case puts Neymar under suspicion yemenat 2023

The Brazilian authorities summoned the striker of the samba dancers team, the French star of Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar da Silva.

Neymar asked in order to testify in the context of a case that is currently being investigated regarding the illegal purchase of jewelry, according to what was reported today by the Brasília Metropolitan Police.

Neymar’s name appears on an invoice as the buyer of some jewelry of apparently illegal origin, which was probably sold to him by a person named Eduardo Rodrigues Silva, one of the three detainees pending investigations.

The authorities are investigating the existence of a network dedicated to illegal loans, money laundering and illicit trade in jewelry and precious stones, which are run through a secret nightclub.

Police official Fernando Cosito explained during a press conference that the police wanted to hear Neymar’s statements, as one of the witnesses, to find out “if he first acquired these jewels, if he owned them and their value.”

The value of the jewelry in the bill, in which the name of the current Paris Saint-Germain and former Barcelona striker appears, is 106,000 Brazilian riyals ($21,000).

The police also want to know if Neymar knows the origin of this jewelry that Eduardo Rodrigues Silva supposedly handed over to him, who appears frequently on the Brazilian international’s social networks.
