Statement of MP Ahmed Saif Hashed on the National Dialogue Conference and his membership in it

I thank the President of the Republic Abed Rabu Mansour Hadi for his nice gesture including my name in the list of the National Dialogue Conference members, especially it comes under a wild exclusion practiced by the powerful centers and some parties of the political process against rebels and independents. despite my conviction that the dialogue is a means to resolve big and complex national dilemmas, and overcome the challenges, but I will not participate in this dialogue which is being talked about because I believe that it lacks the environment and atmosphere that can lead to the expected outputs for establishing a modern civil and democratic state ..

All priorities and issues that were supposed to have been dealt with by the "the reconciliation government " in the first months of its period remained unresolved and unaddressed until today ..

the revolution martyrs' families are neglected without any care or attention. the wounded chew their wounds that are spread in length and width of the homeland and this corrupted government spoils the appropriations for their medical treatment, and abandons them and leaves them prey to be blackmailed by some parties and some centers of power to punish them as they revolted against their interests and corrupted system ..

Corruption indulges, takes root and grows every day with the practices of crude governmental that states its ugliness openly day and night and in a way swallows our hopes and dreams, and the future of our children without deterrent ..

Restructuring is still crippled, and the change went from bad to worse. Radical and tribal powerful forces are still the controllers of the political scene having the final say, and all attempts to limit or curb their destructive practices to any political process towards nation-building were failed..

In addition the use of some political forces of the state institutions and under its protection in the repression of political protesters increases the case of accumulation, growing tensions, and dangerous ramifications that threaten the present and the future of Yemen ..

We did not see any encouraging signs and there is nothing that assures the people;  the government is soaked in corruption, and it is a failure by all standards, and busy with booty and quotas .. The judiciary is weak and is not independent. The worst is that there isa prompt and quick direction from some powerful and extremist forces to seize the judiciary and guide it according to their ideologies, while injustices exist around the country, and crimes grow and multiply without punishment. Moreover, the powerful and influential centers are practicing crime and protect criminals through the official institutions of the state and what happened of attempted murder and the attack on the wounded of the Revolution in front of the Council of Ministers is only one example..

People are directed to the dialogue without preparation, but under accumulations, dangerous congestion, poisonous atmosphere and terrifying and mined environment. There is a resounding and catastrophic failure in the implementation of even a single point of the twenty points announced by the Technical Committee of the preparation of the dialogue ..

The international interventions in Yemen are at the expense of the interests of Yemen and its people, and the civic values and the issues of rights, freedoms and democracy. The political practices of the KSA  in Yemen are subversive and distractive for any real direction even just to build the state..

We hoped to see, on the ground, what really assures the people that the coming would be better, that there is seriousness, the people can see and touch, and that things are going towards building a civil, modern and democratic state. but what happens is worse and things are going towards dangerous and catastrophic decline, especially if the conditions remained as they are, and the powerful and backward forces, that are supported by regional and international powers either directly as in the case of KSA or indirectly as in the case of the United States and its followers, impose themselves on the present and the future of Yemen.

In conclusion I would like to emphasize that I am not nihilist or obstinate, nor I am deliberately sitting in the offensive position. If I find that there is a real trend to dislodge the powerful backward forces that disturb the establishment of the new state, or that this dialogue carries positive signs and that goes towards building a civil, modern and democratic state, I will support the dialogue wherever I am ..
