Abdulkarim Al-Shahari Earns Master’s Degree with Distinction from Al-Razi University for Study on Intellectual Capital in Pharmaceutical Sector

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences at Al-Razi University on Sunday, February 15, 2026, hosted the defense of a master’s thesis submitted by Yemeni researcher Abdulkarim Ali Ahmed Al-Shahari in Business Administration, addressing a topic closely linked to the realities and development needs of Yemen’s industrial sector.
The thesis, titled (The Role of Intellectual Capital in Improving the Performance of the Yemeni Pharmaceutical Industries Company – Capital Secretariat, Sana’a – A Field Study), highlights the importance of investing in human competencies and expertise as a key driver of institutional performance and a critical factor in enhancing the efficiency of national companies operating in an increasingly challenging business environment.
During the defense session, the researcher delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the study’s objectives, methodology, and key findings. He demonstrated how intellectual capital can strengthen the competitiveness of pharmaceutical companies and enhance both administrative and production performance.
The session featured an in-depth academic discussion reflecting the solid preparation and significant research effort undertaken.
The examination committee comprised Prof. Amal Mohammed Ali Al-Mujahid, external examiner from Dhamar University, Prof. Ali Mohammed Eskandar, internal examiner, and Prof. Abdulfattah Ali Mohammed Al-Qaras, the thesis supervisor.
The committee commended the relevance of the topic and the researcher’s ability to bridge modern management theories with the practical realities of pharmaceutical companies in Yemen.
At the conclusion of the session, and following deliberations, the committee awarded Al-Shahari a Master’s degree in Business Administration with distinction, scoring 94 percent.
The committee noted that the study’s findings represent a valuable academic contribution that could benefit decision-makers in pharmaceutical institutions, particularly amid the pressing need for practical solutions to support the development of the national industrial sector.
