Biden: A new pandemic will undoubtedly come
The US president expressed his conviction that the world will face a new pandemic at some point, stressing the need to prepare for it.
Biden said during the US-Africa summit in Washington on Wednesday that the United States provided 231 million doses of vaccines to 49 African countries during the coronavirus pandemic, and invested in the production of vaccines on this continent.
“As we fight the spread of COVID-19, we continue to create more robust healthcare systems, institutions, and increased efforts to ensure access to medical services for all, to be convinced that we are better prepared to solve healthcare problems, including a new pandemic, which will undoubtedly come.”
Biden noted that partnerships between the United States and African countries would be “the key to success” for the whole world. “When Africa succeeds, the United States does it,” he said. The whole world succeeds.”
