Yemen rally demands power to leave

Sana-Hundreds demonstrated Tuesday in Sanaa for fourth day in a row, demanding President Saleh and his family to leave the power.

The angry protestors, who were mostly students from the University of Sanaa, raised critical banners against the Yemeni autocratic power reading: “depart the power before you must be overthrow” and “peaceful change is our choice to build a modern Yemen”!

Security crackdown suppressed the protestors crowds by shooting fire into the air, arresting about 11 people and closing the Universitys gates, but the demonstration went in a rally and did not stop.

Ahmed Saif Hashed, a Member of parliament, pointed to the corruption and prevailing unemployment among university graduates. He told the crowds “you are making a historic shift towards change”, asking the security forces to protect the protesters and not to be defenders for the interests of corrupt power.

The demonstration was suspended afternoon in return to release the detainees.

The angry protests came in the wake of the Tunisian uprising culminated in the overthrow of Bin Alis regime.
