The Yemeni Speaker of the House of the Parliament, Yehia Al-ra'ai prevented MP Ahmed Saif Hashed of continuing carrying out a sit-in inside the parliament, yesterday. He also ordered the guards to close the hall in the face of Hashed because of what he described as "security reasons" as Al-ra'ai insulted Hashed and tried to attack him.

MP Saleh Al-barhami explained to Al-Sharei that the House Speaker made a proposal at the end of the session yesterday saying that Hashed's sit-in inside the parliament hall poses a threat to the representatives as a lot of people visit him and criminals may sneak inside the council plant explosives.

Al-barhami explained that Al-ra'ai made a proposal suggesting that Hashed has to leave the hall and that he, Al-ra'ai, will give orders to the guards to close the hall and take Hashed out of it.

MP Saleh Albarhami, who said that the meeting was at the end, thus most of the parliament members had left except few of them, explained that Alra'ai asked them, "What do you think? Do you agree?"  Some of the present members raised their hands to vote, and some declined then Alra'ai adjourned the session directly without the votes are counted by the secretariat.

Albarhami added: "Although few of the members were in the meeting, the secretariat of the Council has to count the members are voting for the resolution and those who are abstaining against it, and then the House Speaker shall issue a decision according to the majority. But he improvised the resolution, adjourned the meeting and ordered the guards to close the hall.

The House Speaker, Yahya Alra'ai, earlier in the session of yesterday, attacked the MP Hashed and swore him, but some of the preventatives prevented it.

MP Ahmed Saif Hashed told "Alsharei" that he had gone to Yahya Alra'ai before the meeting started, and expressed his protest with regard to paying 10 thousand riyals per day for 3 of the staff of the Council, who were assigned to accompany him during his sit-in inside the hall.

As Hashed explained that he is paying this amount because Yahya Ara'ai refused to give his staff overtime payment saying: "Alra'ai insulted my father, after that I told him: I pay every day 10 thousand riyals as if I am in a five stars hotel"

He added: "I did not answer him and I withdrew because I was alone, and after ten minutes some of the members had gathered. I wanted them to be witnesses to his insulting me, so I went and told him: Why did you insult me and curse my father? In sequence, he insulted me again, and tried to attack me but the present members intervened and prevent him from doing so."

Hashed continued: "Alra’ai withdrew my headdress of my neck, trying to attack me, and he told me:" You get used to be beaten" After I had brought back my headdress from him, I almost to clash with him, but the members intervened and prevented it."

Then MP Ahmed Saif Hashed returned and addressed the House of Representatives in the hall, saying: "you gave him the chance to do so , you made him a pharaoh and because of your silence he insulted me, cursed my father, and tried to attack me."

Hashed asked his colleagues: "Is this the behavior of House Speaker?!", And demand them to identify a clear position on such behaviors, and to form a commission of inquiry, or referring him and Alra’ai to a disciplinary committee, but the members did not intervene, and remained silent in their seats.

Hashed commented on this situation saying: "But unfortunately the members were like the stones, they did not speak, and it was clear to me that Alra’ai deals with the members the same every day, so they accustomed that. Therefore, no longer such behaviors bother them"

When the meeting began, MP Hashed demanded summoning the Interior Minister again to accountable for his refusal to bring the offenders, who tried to assassinate him, and attacked  the revolution’s wounded to trail and to the prosecution for investigation.

Hashed explained that he made request, on the second day of his sit-in inside the parliament hall, to the Presidency of the Council with regard to questioning the

Interior Minister attaching forty nine photos to his request showing the attack, in addition to the notes issued by the Attorney General that requested the

Interior Minister and the Commander of the Central Security to send the defendants to the prosecution for interrogation.

Hashed added that it is supposed  from the House Speaker to inform him seven days before calling the Minister of the Interior for questioning, but that did not happen, and five days passed and the House Speaker refuses to question the minister, and was indignant and discontent of this request.

Hashed said: "The only explanation for Alra’ai’s rejection of questioning the Minister of the Interior is that he wants to arrange with the leadership of Aleslah party at the expense of our rights, and at the expense of the revolution’s wounded and the nation."

The MP Hashed transferred his sit-in place yesterday afternoon to be in front of the gate of the House of Representatives after they had closed the parliament hall in his face by the House Speaker, Yehya Alra’ai, who commissioned the guards to close it.  the revolution’s wounded and a number of peaceful activists joined MP Hashed who will continue their sit-in in front of the gate.
